Kritika Kamra and Gaurav Kapur Prove Intimate At-Home Weddings Can Be Just as Magical

It’s only March, and 2026 already feels like a full-blown Bollywood wedding marathon to me. One after another, the year has delivered a carousel of dreamy celebrations that have kept the internet happily obsessed. From Nupur Sanon and Stebin Ben’s royal wedding to Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok’s glam-packed Mumbai celebration, and the much-awaited cinematic union of Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, the year has served weddings of every scale and style.

Just when we thought we had finally recovered from the visual poetry of Rashmika and Vijay’s traditional South Indian ceremony, another love story stepped into the spotlight. On 11th March, Kritika Kamra and Gaurav Kapur tied the knot, choosing intimacy over extravagance.

Kritika Kamra and Gaurav Gupta at-home Bandra wedding

While Indian weddings are often synonymous with grandeur, their at-home celebration felt refreshingly personal and effortlessly romantic, the kind of wedding that proves you don’t need a palace to create magic.

A Love Story Sealed at Home

While we anticipated Kritika’s wedding, what we never imagined was how they would turn their Bandra home in Mumbai into the most meaningful wedding venue, just like a who’s who of the tinsel town, including Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Dia Mirza, and more. Choosing a simple signing ceremony over gigantic banquet halls, star-rated resorts, or palaces, the couple kept their special moment intimate and deeply personal.

As the sun dipped over the city, they exchanged vows on their terrace, surrounded by close friends and family who cheered them on. With the Mumbai skyline as their backdrop and their loved ones as witnesses, the celebration felt less like a spectacle and more like a beautifully heartfelt moment shared at hom

A Bride Draped in Sindoor Red

For her big day, Kritika Kamra chose a look that was classic, rooted, and deeply personal. The actress walked down the aisle in a sindoor-red silk Chanderi saree woven with tussar silk, letting the richness of the fabric do all the talking. Instead of going for an overly heavy bridal couture Kritika kept it elegant and understated, perfectly in sync with the intimate vibe of the wedding.

A Handloom Story Close to Home

What made the look even more special was its origin. Kritika’s bridal saree came from Cinnabar, the homegrown label she founded with her mother, Kumkum, during the Covid lockdown. With her hometown in Madhya Pradesh just 30 kilometres from Chanderi, the actress has long shared a personal bond with the weaving community.

With her hometown in Madhya Pradesh just 30 kilometres from Chanderi, the actress has long shared a personal bond with the weaving community.

Over the years, she has visited their homes and worked closely with artisans to create timeless handloom pieces—making this bridal choice feel incredibly meaningful.

Soft Glam for the Big Day

Kritika kept her beauty look refreshingly simple. With soft, understated makeup and open hair, she allowed the vibrant red sari to remain the star of the ensemble.

She paired the look with heavy diamond and emerald jewellery, adding just the right amount of sparkle while keeping the overall aesthetic refined and graceful.

Gaurav’s Regal Bandhgala Moment

Complementing Kritika’s traditional elegance, Gaurav Kapur kept things sharp and sophisticated. The groom opted for a golden-ivory bandhgala paired with white trousers, creating a look that was both regal and timeless.

Designed by Raghavendra Rathore, the custom bandhgala featured delicate thread embroidery and heritage-inspired buttons. Finished with brown leather shoes, the outfit struck the perfect balance between classic and contemporary.

A Wedding Palette of Cream and Gold

The wedding guest style was just as thoughtfully curated. While Kritika stood out in her bright red bridal look, her close friends, including Soha Ali Khan, Shahana Goswami, Anya Singh, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Pooja Gor, opted for sarees in soft shades of cream and gold.

The coordinated palette added a subtle charm to the ceremony, creating a visually beautiful setting without taking attention away from the bride.

A Starry Guest List for an Intimate Celebration

The intimate ceremony was attended by a close-knit circle of friends and well-wishers from the entertainment and sports world. Soha Ali Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Anya Singh, Rhea Chakraborty, Malaika Arora, Neha Dhupia, and Angad Bedi were among the familiar faces spotted arriving to bless the couple.

The guest list also included celebrity couples like Masaba Gupta and Satyadeep Mishra, Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge, and Ajit Agarkar with his wife Fatema, adding a touch of star power to the otherwise warm and understated celebration.

Proof That Simple Weddings Can Be Magical

After witnessing a series of lavish celebrity weddings this year, Kritika and Gaurav’s celebration felt like a breath of fresh air. Their terrace ceremony at their Bandra home, surrounded by close friends and family, brought warmth and authenticity to the occasion.
